Some might say it was random, we say it was Divine Intervention.

August 6th, 2016 was the first night we met--online! It's been nearly 10 years since our worlds have been flipped upside down in the best possible way. Two young twenty-somethings trying to find their way through life found a spark that burns bright to this day. Our relationship can be broken up into three distinct time periods: The Distance, California, and Michigan.

The Distance:

This was some of the most exhilarating and heavyhearted time of our relationship. We knew that we found a profound understanding within one another, but for the first 7 months we had never met in person. To truly take the next step, we had to see each other.

March 23rd, 2017 was the first time we met--in person! We both would describe the feeling we first felt as "real but not real". Our hearts knew one another deeply, but we were physically strangers. We would continue to keep visiting each other every couple of months, whenever we could.

After a year and a half of doing distance, there was only one way to take the next step: Someone had to move!

California:

October 22nd, 2018 was the day that we began our first cross-country road trip from Michigan to California. We spent 4 days seeing the country on our way to the beginning of a brand new chapter.

These years were spent figuring out how to live together, pursuing our careers, going on adventures, going through Covid, becoming engaged, and picking up our little rescue kitty Lolli <3 Our love continued to surprise us as it kept growing and evolving.

If there was anything that we learned in the 4 years of living in sunny California, it was that life is short and that anywhere we were together was home. We decided that our next adventure was to move to Michigan!

Michigan:

Leading up to late December of 2022 and then the next few months of living in Michigan were a whirlwind of uncertainty: Where will we live? What will our careers look like here? What kept us going is what always has: our belief that we can take on anything together. That coupled with the incredible support from our great friends Zacc and Shanyn allowed us the time to get to MI, get our own place, get our footing, and finally get to enjoy all the seasons for the first time together. After a couple of years of establishing ourselves and growing some Michigan roots, we knew that it was finally time to take the next big step: WE GETTING MARRIED!!
